2012 Year in Review!!

Welcome to my annual Year in Review! I am your host Noah Schultz!! Follow me now on a month by month year long review of my 2012 life. You may be included in the review you may not be, but don't worry you have all of 2013 to be included in the awesomeness that is my existence :) Without further ado here is my 2012 Year in Review!!

January- Upon returning to NYC from my stay home for the holidays in WI, I meet up with my other half Miss Hannah Scott, and her and I go to Irving Plaza for a Steel Panther concert!!! (Thanks to James Lawrence) There was much fun at the concert as we moshed and drank the night away!! I met up with the wonderful folks from the Stolen Chair Theatre Company and we headed to CT for a weekend retreat to collaborate on our new original piece entitled "Listen to This" Great weekend filled with drinks by the fire in the FAO Mansion! The end of the month Hannah and I took off for Six Flags in NJ to audition for Six Flags America's Live Stunt Show in MD. We drove together through "The Nothing" and were late to the auditions as a result. After showing our stuff we loaded back up to head back to NYC and the car broke down on the Interstate 10 mins away from Six Flags, which resulted in a 4 day adventure which involved the middle of nowhere NJ, an Enterprise Rent-A-Car, meeting Hannah's father, exchanging cars, packing up Mike and Emily for NO, pulled over by the cops, a ticket, and driving back and forth between middle of nowhere NJ.

February- The Superbowl party was held at my apartment again, and the Giants were victorious. Lots of my fight friends were in attendance. Hannah and I join forces with Mark and Keith at Best Buy Theater for an Anthrax/Testament concert. I go crowd surfing for the first time, thanks Hannah. Hannah and I rock the mosh pit as usual with a Tom Seleck look-a-like. We also get a little tipsy and start beating each other up outside the concert venue (as we do) which got the attention of the police walking by, its ok we're professionals!! Partnered up with Hannah, Irish, Aaron, Leo, Calvin and Ariel to shoot a lil short film "Hannah's Valentine" on Valentines Day, because what else is there to do other than kill each other for fun?? I get the phone call from Six Flags America offering me a spot on the Six Flags America Stunt Team!! I scramble to find someone to sublet my apartment and make other arrangements to re-locate to MD for the summer! I hang out with Hannah to try to go see "Book of Mormon" which turns into the most Epic Surprise Going Away Party I have ever had!!! I have never been more surprised in my entire life, it was so awesome that I was literally speechless. Well done Dina and Hannah!!!

March- We get the Gang together (Leo, Hannah, Theik, Adam, Dina, Viola, Calvin and Cat) and shoot an AWESOME commercial for The Baconery!! (which can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzbfkyICsj4 ) I throw my own going away party at the beginning of the month to see everyone one last time before moving down to MD for the Summer. Hannah was awesome as she hung out with me all night and came with me to see me off at the bus stop. So begins my Six Flags Stunt Performer adventure. I meet up with Jenna (who I met at the audition in Jan) and we took the bus down together. After much wandering around the bus station in DC we finally get picked up by Brad and begin our Six Flags adventure. We start training the new show immediately. I meet Mitchell and Stephon as we begin training. Introduced to John our Tech who is the FREAKING MAN! It snowed on our first day of rehearsal. Shawn joins the fray a week later as we continue to learn the show. I learn the role of Captain Jericho. Spend St Pattys day at the local Irish Pub in MD, and learn the art of the Suck N Blow Jell-O shots with Jenna, Mitchell, Kelly and Shawn.

April- The park opens and I make my debut as Captain Jericho in the 2012 Six Flags America Stunt Show "Pirate's Quest: A Stunt Adventure"!!! I celebrate my 30th Birthday with the Six Flags crew at the local Hooters (which can be seen here http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=402408966438686 ) The Six Flags Crew (Shawn, Jenna, Brad, David, Jay, Kelly and Flanders) take a Road Trip to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ for a fun filled day of the VIP treatment. We were escorted on every roller coaster, no waiting for this stunt team. Hannah also met us there for the fun :) I actually learn a new Role as the Hero, Artemis, which becomes my permanent role in the show.

May- Hannah makes a drive down to MD to see the Stunt Show!! Was awesome having her come down even though due to traffic she missed the show. She did however get her own personal show (hey we needed the practice anyways) and she got to play on set with us. I taught her some of the sword choreo which will help later. Hannah, Shawn and I travel to Baltimore for some "touring", we get yelled at by a security guard for climbing on art in front of the courthouse, figures! Hannah and I go to DC to tour around. We practice our handstands around National Monuments. We get yelled at by a security guard in front of the White House, figures! My Grandpa Bauer and Uncle Aurey take a flight to DC on the Badger Honor Flight. I met up with them and got to spend the day with them touring the monuments. Was so great to see my Grandpa who has always been my hero! Six Flags opens full time for the summer!!

June- Well this month started with the passing of my Grandpa Bauer, he was my hero and the closest person I have lost since my Godmother when I was 8. I was glad I got to see him a month earlier for the last time. I traveled home to be with my family and say farewell to my hero. I will never stop missing him. I was able to be a part of the Grand Opening of Six Flag Americas newest Roller Coaster the Apocalypse. Was dressed up as a Zombie for the grand opening and had to ride the ride several times for news casters and pr video. Hannah gets hired and moves to MD as the newest member of the Six Flags America Stunt Team!! Pure AWESOMENESS to have your best friend join you on a fun gig like this!! I met up with and began training and making connections with the DC Stunt Coalition.

July- Had a water park party at Six Flags with Hannah and Jenna, amazing how cold that water gets at night. My mom and Blaine come to visit for a weekend and get to see the Stunt Show! They had a blast, and in the last show I cut open my eyebrow with my own sword, glad my mom got to see that haha. Hannah and I took a day to travel to DC to go see a Washington Nationals game. They won in epic fashion! I perform in a Six Flags employee talent show with Brad, Hannah, Quan, Kelly and Lexus. I got to play Bane and fight Batman!! Other than that just performing every day in the Stunt Show this Month!

August- I take a gun safety class with my good friend Jeff, Dylan and Dominique. Got to meet and work with some other stunt people and learn all about gun handling on set. Filmed a little scene. Got certified in gun safety. We have another water park party at Six Flags, this time for the entertainment department only. Had a blast freezing with Hannah, Jenna, Brad, David, Mitchell and Elise. My Dad and Nancy make a trip to the DC area to see the Stunt Show!! On my days off we take a 2 day trip to Philadelphia and see a Phillies game. Dad and I went to a bar after the game and rode an electronic bull (which can be seen here http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4151473261866&set=vb.1134921629&type=3 ) I got to meet up with Mari for a lunch, great seeing her! The full time summer season comes to an end this month and we are back to weekends only.

September- I take a few days trip back to NYC to see some friends, relax a bit and just get away from MD for a little while. Thanks so much to Victoria for putting me up for the few days. I go to grab drinks with Viola and then meet up with Theik and Jared for some CKT Training fun. Meet up with several other friends for lunch and chat, including Shawn, Barber, Irene, Popo and Mike Yahn. John, Hannah and I begin to frequent Moni's in which CONFIDENCE FACE was invented!! (this should have happened earlier!!) Hannah and I take a weekend trip to Pittsburgh. We stay with my good friends Josh and Patricia, thanks so much for putting us up for a weekend. We have dinner together at the Hofbrau Haus. We all got to see a Pirates game together, great fun! Went to a Steelers Bar for a game, got a parking ticket and even had a waiter pay for our meal at Pimanti Brothers!! Training starts and continues for our new Fright Fest Stunt Show in which I play the role of "The Leader" End of the month marks the official opening of Fright Fest!!

October- Hannah and I pay a visit to Mr. Jeff Wilhelm's lovely abode to work on some fire gags with Dominique, Dylan and Mascot!! Great time!! I did an arm burn, a head burn and a 3/4 burn. I also was able to pull off a front handspring while on fire!! (which can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAgFxJbxVts ) Hannah and I join Dominique and Lee for some Indoor Rock Climbing, and not long after arrival we get evacuated for a fire alarm. It was ok false alarm so we were back in after a short delay, but was interesting haha. I continue to perform in the Fright Fest Stunt Show "The Ravage" on the weekends. I hang out in some free time with the Mistress of Make-Up Miss Margaret!! Jared, Adam and Theik take a road trip down to MD to see the Stunt Show, was so awesome that they came down!! Former Six Flags Stuntman Aaron Joshua also comes down to check out the show! I finish up the 2012 Six Flags America season a day early, thanks to Hurricane Sandy! Anthony, Mitchell, Jamie and I hunker down to ride out the hurricane, but not without STREAKING through it in the middle of the night!! Load up the car with Hannah and Mitchell and drive back to NYC on Halloween!

November- Back in NYC, I am stuck in my Apartment for a few days due to the hurricane and the subways being shut down. I unpack and move my stuff back in. Beau and I remodel the living room. I go to see Annie on Broadway with Victoria. I start hustling sets looking for stunt work and stunt connections. I meet up with some old friends at the bar to celebrate Shawn Flemings Birthday!! Viola and I go on what would be now considered as our first date, but started more like a friends going to a movie thing. I spend Thanksgiving with Viola at her apartment in Brooklyn. We had a pot-luck type Thanksgiving which was great, I made my awesome mashed potatoes, appropriately named No-tatoes. I don't have to be to work on Black Friday for the first time in over 10 years!!

December- A Badger Bar reunion takes place with Rob, Mario, V and myself to watch the Badgers Stomp Nebraska and earn a trip to the Rose Bowl for the 3rd year in a row!! I start working background for different projects to make a little bit of $$ to keep me surviving. Projects like the TV Show "Smash" and the upcoming film "The Wolf of Wall Street." I rehearse with Stolen Chair on our new production of "The Man Who Laughs", which will open at the end of January. Dina and I throw a killer Holiday party at the apartment, which was attended by many :) I officially enter into a relationship with Viola (she's so awesome!) (Oh and if you just found that out by reading this, sorry I didn't tell you in person haha) Viola surprises me by booking the same flight to and from Wisconsin so we can spend the Holidays together in the frigid frozen state of Wisconsin. V and I fly into Milwaukee on Xmas eve, and meet up with my sister Tia and ride back home to Milton for the Holidays! We do all sorts of stuff like go ice skating, go horseback riding, have family Xmas'es, ect. Hang out with Carl a bunch and take advantage of the cheap movie prices here in Wisconsin.

Well that about wraps up my 2012. If I left something out that you would like to add, please do so! Its so hard for me to recap absolutely everything, and I love hearing about things I may have forgotten, so please add them!! I had an excellent 2012 and look forward to an even more successful 2013. I'm primed to make some big time moves this year and cant wait to see what's in store!! HERES TO 2013!!!!
